The Abbeyfeale Anglers have returned to the planning permission for the construction of a bridge over the Oolagh river and removal of the concrete slab. This will help spawning capacity of the river, especially as the Oolagh was cleaned last year. Our thanks to Tom McMahon, Engineer, for all of his help at design and planning stages. We are again in contact with WLR and the Limerick PPN in the latest attempt to get the slab removed. Salmon numbers have fallen dramatically since we began the project in 2013. If it again gets held up in again 2017, we can trade in the fly rods for sea gear.
We live in hope.
